Kivits Drunen is the foundation of the Kivits Logistics Group and has been a trusted name in the industry for more than 75 years. It started as a wholesale business in fresh produce and has grown into a full-service logistics provider specialising in temperature-sensitive products.

Today the company is led by the third generation, Simone van Opzeeland and Rob van Opzeeland. Under their leadership, the customer base has grown from a handful of long-standing partners to a diverse portfolio, from local farmers to major supermarket chains. Kivits Drunen offers end-to-end logistics services, including transport, warehousing, value-added logistics and distribution. The company plays a key role in connecting fresh-food producers with retailers, and every product gets efficient, cost-effective handling and the highest level of care.

The challenge: moving fresh goods between levels

Fresh-produce logistics leaves no room for delays. Products must move quickly and carefully from inbound to storage, value-added activities and outbound, often across several floors of a warehouse. Moving pallets between levels by hand or with forklifts takes time and labour, and it can disrupt the flow of goods.

The solution: Viscon pallet lifts

Viscon supplied vertical transport for Kivits Drunen using its pallet lifts. These systems automatically move pallets between floors and connect to conveyors and other automation in the warehouse. Viscon’s pallet lifts can be configured with multiple levels and several infeeds and outfeeds, and they handle a range of pallet formats. Hardware and software are integrated and can connect to existing processes and ERP systems.
